Our Take:
The Salomon Women’s Quest 4D 2 GTX Hiking Boot is a great fitting boot that’s built for heavy-duty hiking and backpacking.
The uppers are very durable made from 3D mesh textile and Nubuck leather.
They’re also made with Gore-Tex for complete waterproof protection.
There’s a gusseted tongue which comes all the way to the top for even more water protection from rain, snow, crossing through streams or just a wet trail.
The toe cap in the front will help add more protection on rockier terrain.
On the back is Salomon’s heel strap which helps to lock in your heel.
This combined with the tough metal shoelace eyelet will help lock your ankle into the back for added support.
There’s also plenty of padding inside the Quest 4D to help you avoid blisters.
The bottom includes the 4D chassis which adds plenty of protection and helps guide the foot without the extra weight.
The outsole includes Salomon’s Contragrip technology which is a precise combination of geometry, density and compound with deep, aggressive lugs for added traction no matter what kind of terrain you’re dealing with.
They are extremely lightweight for a hiking boot at around 20 ounces depending on your size.
On the inside is Salomon’s Ortholite removable insole which is one of the better boot insoles.
Even though these cost a little on the higher side Salomon delivers a ton of quality.
